That's true Joe. The curse of algorithm driven profit runs through most social media platforms with few exceptions. I picked up on the irritation with Spotify watching my 30 somethings friends and family members wrestling with the problem. :) Nevermind we can move to Greenland soon.
Hahaha, no I'm not a doomer boomer :). The shift created by sampling and digital production layering sure had an impact creating much repetition and dare I say it, mediocrity. But it <seems> though that people are increasingly finding that 'hits' that 'everybody' knows are more distributed?
Also interesting to see the shift from bands to artists over the years. Top 10 songs from the 80's, 90's,00's,10's you see less bands and more solo artists.
